Majority Whip-Elect Tom Emmer Announces Chief Deputy Whip
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Majority Whip-elect Tom Emmer today announced Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) will serve as Chief Deputy Whip in the 118th Congress.
“No one is more tenacious and determined than Guy, and his experience as a US Navy veteran is a vital addition to our leadership team. His reputation and relationships within the Republican conference speak volumes about his abilities. Guy will play a crucial role in House Republicans’ fight to deliver on our commitments to the American people,” said Whip-elect Tom Emmer.
“House Republicans have a tremendous opportunity to show voters we are capable of delivering on our promises and serving as a vital check on Joe Biden’s disastrous agenda,” added Reschenthaler. “I want to thank Whip Emmer for the opportunity to serve in this role, and I couldn’t be happier to get to work for the American people.”
Background on Rep. Reschenthaler:
Guy Reschenthaler represents Pennsylvania’s 14th Congressional District, located in southwestern Pennsylvania. He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee, House Committee on Rules, and was selected to the China Task Force by Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy for the 117th Congress.
Prior to Congress, Guy was elected Magisterial District Judge in 2013, won a seat in the Pennsylvania State Senate in 2015, and served his country in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General Corps, volunteering for duty in Iraq. In Baghdad, Guy prosecuted nearly 100 terrorists, including some of Iraq’s most dangerous terrorists. He also successfully defended a Navy SEAL falsely accused by the Obama Administration of mishandling the Butcher of Fallujah.
While in Congress, Guy has successfully had legislation signed into law supporting America’s police officers, sounded the alarm on EcoHealth Alliance’s possible role in unleashing the COVID-19 pandemic in Wuhan, and was twice selected as the Elected Leadership Committee Representative for his 116th congressional class.
