Reschenthaler: House GOP’s Limit, Save, Grow Act Forces Biden to the Negotiating Table
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) joined Mornings with Maria on Fox Business to discuss new GDP report numbers, the House’s recently passed debt limit plan, and the growing China threat.
Chief Deputy Whip Reschenthaler on the GDP report for the first quarter of 2023:
Joe Biden has managed to disappoint not only Wall Street by not meeting or beating expectations in seven or eight quarters already – he’s beaten expectations once in seven quarters, it’s quite astounding, his horrible, abysmal record of failure here – but he’s also disappointed Main Street. If you go into a grocery store, people are having a hard time affording basic necessities. They’re having a hard time filling up at the pump at gas stations. The average American has lost between $7,000 and $8,000 dollars a year just because of Biden's inflation.
Chief Deputy Whip Reschenthaler on House Republicans’ Limit, Save, Grow Act passage and next steps:
We’ve gotten Kevin McCarthy a seat at the negotiating table. And not just any seat – he's in the driver’s seat right now. He’s been able to prove – unlike Chuck Schumer – that he actually has 218 votes to raise the debt ceiling with savings and reductions in spending. He’s in a very good position. This is going to force Joe Biden to the table.
Now where do we go from here? We’ve got to keep in mind a few things: We have to continue to have robust oversight to expose all the mistakes of the Biden Administration, the corrupt nature of the Biden family, and we have to make sure we get policy wins.
Chief Deputy Whip Reschenthaler on the growing China threat:
This administration is way too soft on Communist China – so is the entire Democratic party.
[…]
We’ve got to take a real look at China and make sure that we’re combatting not just in terms of the military and making sure our allies in the Pacific are prepared for an aggressive China, but we also have to look at what they’re doing culturally with TikTok, Confucius Institutes, and with the secret police stations they have here in the United States to make sure that they’re cracking down on China expatriates. It’s a big problem. I wish the Democrats realized it. I wish that Joe Biden realized it. We have to take immediate steps.
Chief Deputy Whip Reschenthaler on the Biden Administration’s green energy agenda deepening America’s dependence on China:
It's making us much more reliant, especially when you look at the fact that the Green New Deal elements that the Democrats are trying to pass – which, by the way, we rescinded yesterday in the Limit, Save, Grow Act – the solar panels, the windmills, they rely on critical minerals that China has a virtual monopoly on with the processing and mining. It’s making us more reliant on Communist China while, at the same time, China continues to increase its CO2 emissions. They're bringing one or two coal-fired power plants every week.
While our energy grid gets more fragile and our energy gets more expensive, China’s gets less expensive as they have more energy abundance through gaining coal-fired power plants. That’s going to make everything more expensive – consumer goods, anything involving petrochemicals, it’s going to make transportation costs more expensive.
We get weaker as China gets stronger. Democrats need to realize that.
