Reschenthaler, Miller Co-Chair Congressional Appalachian Caucus

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) and Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced they will be co-chairing the Congressional Appalachian Caucus for the 119th Congress.

“Appalachia has long been overlooked and left behind by Washington bureaucrats as the far-left's Green New Deal policies devastated our communities,” said Reschenthaler. “I am proud to continue fighting alongside Congresswoman Carol Miller as co-chairs of the Congressional Appalachian Caucus to restore the American Dream to the region and unleash our vast energy resources which power our nation.”

"Appalachia is home to many hardworking Americans and a beautiful part of the United States,” said Miller. “Abundant with natural resources, we supply America with coal, natural gas, and agriculture. I am honored to be a co-chair of the Appalachian Caucus and work with the Trump administration to ensure there is improved health care access, broadband, transportation, and jobs in Appalachia. We are a strong people and I’m looking forward to this caucus bringing forth solutions and opportunities for all of Appalachia.”

Appalachia spans 206,000 miles across 13 states, encompassing 423 counties with 26.3 million residents.

The Appalachian Caucus supports policies that are of shared concern for the people of Appalachia and surrounding regions, including domestic energy production and access to transportation, healthcare, and broadband.

Reschenthaler joined Miller on various pieces of legislation in the 118th Congress supporting Appalachia, including the completion of the Mountain Valley Pipeline through the Fiscal Responsibility Act and the Methane Reduction and Economic Growth Act. The members also co-chaired the caucus during the previous Congress.
