Reschenthaler Opposes Mass Amnesty Bill That Exacerbates Biden’s Border Crisis
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Guy Reschenthaler (PA-14) released the following statement regarding his no vote on H.R. 6, which would create a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants while doing nothing to address President Biden's self-made crisis at the border.
"As record numbers of illegal immigrants pour across our southern border, House Democrats passed a bill that will further incentivize illegal immigration and worsen the Biden border crisis. H.R. 6 creates a pathway to citizenship for millions of people who entered this country illegally, while doing nothing to enforce our immigration laws or secure our borders. The bill includes dangerous loopholes to give green cards to gang members and criminals and uses billions in taxpayer dollars to promote further illegal immigration.
"The recent surge in illegal immigration is a direct result of the Biden Administration's decision to halt border wall construction, re-implement Obama-era ‘catch and release' policies, and cancel President Trump's asylum agreements. Democrats need to stop placing the interests of those who broke our laws above the interests of those who followed them."
