Reschenthaler Statement on Impeachment Inquiry Authorization into President Biden

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) released the following statement after the House passed H. Res. 918, authorizing an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

“This Congress, House Republicans have uncovered a mountain of evidence implicating President Joe Biden in his family’s influence-peddling schemes. But time and time again, the president’s son and his administration officials have defied subpoenas and refused to meet with House investigators regarding these damning allegations.

Let’s be clear: Having a famous last name does not make you immune from following the law.

By stonewalling and slow-walking this process, the president, his family, and his allies have done a grave disservice to our nation – obstructing Congress’ oversight duty and blocking witness testimonies.

That ends today with the formalization of an impeachment inquiry.

The American people are owed accountability from their government, and House Republicans are committed to following the facts – wherever they may lead. This official inquiry will empower the House’s relevant committees to investigate these allegations free from Biden Administration obstruction.

Through this House resolution, the truth will be found, and Americans will be given the answers they deserve.”
