Reschenthaler Statement on the Impeachment of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) issued the following statement after voting to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas:

 

“In his capacity as Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas has consistently and blatantly defied the laws of the United States, endangered our national security, and greenlit an invasion at the southern border.

 

Over 8 million illegal immigrants have crossed into the United States, fentanyl has flowed into our communities, and 300 known terrorists entered America because of his dereliction of duty.

 

Our national security can no longer be put in the hands of Mayorkas, whose willful ignorance has made the southern border into one of the worst crises in our nation’s history. He is unfit to serve and must be impeached.”
