Reschenthaler Supports Resolution to Censure Rashida Tlaib

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) released the following statement after the House passed a resolution censuring Representative Rashida Tlaib for promoting false narratives regarding Hamas’ attack on Israel and calling for the destruction of the state of Israel:

“As a Navy JAG stationed in Iraq, I sat face-to-face with terrorists in a Baghdad courtroom and secured their death sentences. I know the evils of terrorists and they should not have cheerleaders in Congress.

Hamas’ brutal attack on Israel resulted in the deaths of at least 33 Americans and more than 1,400 Israelis.

Congresswoman Tlaib’s repeated anti-Israel remarks are not only deeply concerning but completely unacceptable from a sitting member of Congress. From the river to the sea is not ‘an aspirational call for freedom’ — it’s a call for the genocide of the Israeli people.

Antisemitism has no place in America, and we must denounce it in the strongest possible terms. Congress must show the world that we unequivocally stand with Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East, and against all terrorist groups like Hamas that threaten the U.S. and our allies.”
