Reschenthaler’s Statement on Opposing Biden’s Inflation Boosting Blank Check
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Guy Reschenthaler (PA-14) released the following statement on his vote against the House Amendment to S. 1301. This legislation would suspend the debt ceiling through the remainder of this Congress, providing President Biden and Congressional Democrats with a blank check for trillions of dollars in new socialist spending.
"Republicans have been clear for months now – we will not help the Biden Administration and Congressional Democrats in their effort to ram through trillions of dollars in new, reckless socialist spending. Yet Speaker Pelosi is once again wasting the American people's time on a debt ceiling suspension that will not be passed by the Senate nor signed into law.
"Thanks to Democrats' out-of-control spending on far-left progressive priorities, inflation is already at its highest rate in 13 years, and families and businesses are paying the price. Democrats control the House, the Senate, and the White House. If they want to continue their irresponsible tax and spending spree, they must accept sole responsibility and raise the debt ceiling without Republican support."
