Reschenthaler’s Statement on Repealing “Cadillac Tax” and Protecting Workers’ Health Benefits
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Guy Reschenthaler (PA-14) released the following statement on his vote to repeal the so-called "Cadillac Tax," Obamacare's 40 percent tax on employer-provided health care coverage. The Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act of 2019 (H.R. 748), which Reschenthaler also co-sponsored, repeals this tax that threatens the health care benefits of millions of individuals and families across the country who get their health insurance through their employer.
"I am proud to support this bill that repeals the unfair Cadillac Tax and protects health care coverage for over 181 million individuals and families across the country. Employer-provided health care ensures effective, efficient, and stable coverage for people throughout Pennsylvania. Taxing these working families for their standard health care benefits would penalize them for costs beyond their control and make health care unaffordable for those who need it most.
"I thank my fellow Pennsylvanian, Rep. Mike Kelly, for his tireless efforts to protect employer-provided health coverage by repealing the Cadillac Tax. I'm proud to join with him today to fully and permanently repeal this tax on American workers' health care."
