Over the last several weeks, the federal government has taken action to deliver much-needed relief to families, small business owners, workers, and health care providers across the country. Business Resources
Applying for SBA Loans:
The Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, signed into law on April 24, replenished the Small Business Administration's (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL), both of which can be used by small businesses for COVID-19 relief.

Guidance for Paid Leave
The second COVID-19 relief package provides for employers with fewer than 500 employees to offer up to two weeks of paid family leave, which will be 100% reimbursed by the federal government through payroll tax credits. Employers with fewer than 50 employees are eligible for an exemption from this law. To learn more, visit the Department of Labor's website or check out these frequently asked questions.

Economic Impact Payments
All U.S. residents with adjusted gross income up to $75,000 ($150,000 married) who are not a dependent of another taxpayer and have a work eligible social security number are eligible for a $1,200 ($2,400 married) rebate.

Unemployment
The CARES Act expands eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits to include self-employed individuals, contractors, and furloughed workers, and provides participants with an additional $600 a week for four months. Click here for more information.
Health Provider Support
To date, the federal government has provided more than $175 billion for hospitals and health care providers. Most recently, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the following allocations from the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund:
- $50 billion for general distribution to providers impacted by COVID-19.
- $10 billion to hospitals in areas particularly impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.
- $10 billion for rural providers.
- A portion of the funds will be used to reimburse for COVID-19 treatment of the uninsured.
HHS launched a new telehealth website funded through the CARES Act.
- For patients, the website provides resources to learn more about accessing health care through telehealth.
- For providers, the site provides resources to incorporate telehealth into your practices.
Pennsylvania Actions
Pennsylvania has taken the following recent actions during the COVID-19 crisis:
- All businesses in the construction industry are permitted to resume in-person operations starting Friday, May 1. The Wolf Administration issued guidance for all construction businesses and employees to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
- The Wolf Administration launched an online portal for individuals, corporations, or community organizations to inform the Commonwealth of critical medical supplies available for donation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board expanded curbside pickup service to 389 more Fine Wine & Good Spirits locations on Monday, April 27. The expanded list of stores offering curbside service is available online.
