Congressman Reschenthaler to Serve on Judiciary, Foreign Affairs Committees

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Reschenthaler was recently selected to serve on the influential House Committees on the Judiciary and Foreign Affairs.

"Committees are an important part of the legislative process," Reschenthaler said. "I'm honored to have been appointed to the House Committees on the Judiciary and Foreign Affairs, and I look forward to bringing my perspective to the issues before these committees."

Congressman Reschenthaler's experience serving in the US Navy Judge Advocate General Corps, where he prosecuted terrorists in Iraq and helped defend and acquit three Navy SEALS who were wrongfully prosecuted, make him an excellent fit for both of these committees.

Additionally, as a former prosecutor, defense attorney, and district judge, Congressman Reschenthaler brings a well-rounded perspective of the courtroom to the Judiciary Committee.

The House Judiciary Committee, sometimes called the lawyer for the House of Representatives, has far reaching jurisdiction over issues related to civil and criminal justice, terrorism, immigration, antitrust law, and patents, copyrights and trademarks.

"It's an honor to welcome new members, including Congressman Reschenthaler, to the committee and to get to work advancing the conservative priorities that lie before us. The experience these members bring will help us serve Americans well by fighting overreach and safeguarding their fundamental liberties," stated House Committee on the Judiciary Ranking Member Collins.

The House Committee on Foreign Affairs focuses on issues such as combating terrorism and promoting global security and global health.

"Guy Reschenthaler demonstrated his commitment to public service as a Judge Advocate General in the U.S. Navy. Today, I'm pleased to announce that his service will continue as a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the House. I look forward to working closely with Guy as we promote a foreign policy agenda to make America a role model for the rest of the world," said House Committee on Foreign Affairs Ranking Member McCaul.
