Reschenthaler Applauds House Passage of Lower Energy Costs Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) released the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act:

“President Biden’s war on American energy destroyed our energy independence, causing gas prices and utility costs to skyrocket across the country,” said Reschenthaler. “H.R. 1 will unleash American energy and counter the Biden administration's rush-to-green agenda — creating jobs, strengthening national security, and lowering costs for our families. The Lower Energy Costs Act delivers on House Republicans’ Commitment to America to provide our nation with clean, affordable, and reliable energy. I am thrilled the House passed this critical legislation, and I urge the Senate to quickly follow suit.”

Specifically, the Lower Energy Costs Act:

  • Increases domestic energy production

  • Reforms the permitting process for all industries

  • Reverses anti-energy policies advanced by the Biden administration

  • Streamlines energy infrastructure and exports

  • Boosts the production and processing of critical minerals

Reschenthaler managed the Rule Debate on the Lower Energy Costs Act earlier this week.
