Reschenthaler Responds to Chinese Embassy Letter Condemning Taiwan Visit

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) released the following statement after arriving in Taiwan with a bipartisan delegation and receiving a letter from the Chinese Embassy condemning the trip:

“Our congressional visit sends a clear message to the world: America is committed to supporting Taiwan and preserving freedom, democracy, and peace across the globe. I am not intimidated by China’s threats and refuse to kowtow to the Chinese Communist Party. I look forward to meeting with President Tsai Ing-wen and reaffirming our commitment to the people of Taiwan.”
