Reschenthaler Statement on Biden's State of the Union Address
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (PA-14) released the following statement after President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address:
“America is strong, but thanks to President Biden’s failed policies, we are a nation in crisis. During President Biden’s first year in office, inflation soared to a 40-year high, forcing hardworking Americans to pay more for just about everything. His open-border policies allowed 2 million illegal immigrants and 500 pounds of deadly fentanyl to flood across our southern border and into our communities, making every state a border state. And vilifying and defunding the police who bravely serve and protect our communities ushered in a record wave of violent crime in our communities. President Biden’s weakness and inaction on the global stage tragically left Americans and our allies abandoned in a Taliban-controlled Afghanistan and also emboldened Russia to invade Ukraine.
“Unfortunately, President Biden’s State of the Union speech arrogantly ignored the needs and difficulties facing America’s working-class families and senior citizens. Biden’s speech made it clear that he and Congressional Democrats refuse to reverse course on their radical agenda to the detriment of all Americans and freedom-loving people worldwide.”
